Here I came to the very edge
where nothing at all needs saying,
everything is absorbed through weather and the sea,
and the moon swam back,
its rays all silvered,
and time and again the darkness would be broken
by the crash of a wave,
and every day on the balcony of the sea,
wings open, fire is born,
and everything is blue again like morning.

Length of treatment

The length of treatment depends upon the nature of the problem, the severity of the problem, and the treatment goals selected.

Brief therapy is typically time limited, usually between 10-20 sessions (or fewer), and has clear, focused goals.  It is a collaborative process between me and the client and includes specific assignments (homework) for the client between sessions.

Moderate problems or intermediate treatment goals are usually treated within 15-30 sessions, but occasionally treatment lasts longer.  Goals may change completely as new life events occur for the client, which can also lengthen the process.

Rates

$140 per 50-minute session
$190 per 75-minute session

I am able to provide some low cost or sliding scaled services on a limited basis. I invite you to check in with me to see if these are currently available.

I offer a free initial telephone consultation, to allow us to talk briefly about your needs/concerns, and to gauge if it's the right fit for you.

Fees for public speaking, workplace consultation, workshops and other presentations vary based on format, content, event length, and more. I invite you to contact me for more information.

Insurance

I currently accept Optum (UBH), TriWest, TriCare, Magellan (EAP only) and Victim Witness. For private pay clients, please note that psychotherapy services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan under “Out of Network”. I can provide you with a "Superbill", which is an itemized form used by healthcare providers for reflecting rendered services. A Superbill is the main data source for creation of a healthcare claim, which will be submitted to payers (insurances, funds, programs) for reimbursement. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?

  • What is my deductible and has it been met?

  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

  • Does my insurer pay for out of network providers?

Payment

Cash, check and all major credit cards accepted for payment.

Cancellation Policy

If a client cannot attend their scheduled therapy appointment, they may cancel up to 24 hours in advance of their appoinment time.  A client who has not notified us at least 24 hours in advance will be required to pay the full cost of the session.
